Homes First is bursting with talented volunteers, staff and residents these days! Take a moment to learn more about the little family of Volunteer Writers we have been collecting over the year. They dedicate free time every month to interview, discover and write about the organization and the many notable experiences that take place. Thank you for delivering the stories guys!

Marcus is a socially-conscious writer and editor, steadfast Torontonian, and a graduate of Ryerson University’s Arts and Contemporary Studies program. He's focused on pointing a thoughtful eye at the humanity of our urban landscape. (Marcus also works hard every month to design the Residents Newsletters)

Kimberly is a writer and editor with a background in book publishing. She has written for magazines, websites, and literary journals with a focus on lifestyle and travel subjects. She currently lives in Toronto.

Jim is a Toronto-based writer/copywriter who has written for nationally distributed magazines, popular news/culture outlets and blogs, and for top-tier companies and organizations. Born and raised in Summerside, P.E.I., he holds an MA in Communication Studies from the University of Windsor and a BA in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. Jim is also an avid music fan and a musician, having performed as a guitarist at Toronto venues such as The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, Lee’s Palace, The Cadillac Lounge and Grossman’s Tavern. Visit his website for more information.

Jamie comes from a diverse background in film and television. Her most recent projects include field directing for a true crime series and assisting the on set production of a feature film. But her professional endeavours are rooted in the personal value of connection to others, which is why she is most proud of her work at Homes First. Here, Jamie hopes to amplify the voice of the agency, its members and most importantly its residents. She hopes to impart the two catalysts of awareness and understanding - in an effort to create an environment of empathy and change. (Jamie also works hard to deliver Homes First info/messages through the
power of film)
