40 Homes for Dinner is officially sold-out! You can still get involved this year though – here’s how.
What is 40 Homes for Dinner?
On Friday, Nov. 7th, Homes First and local celebrities will host the second annual40 Homes for Dinner, a city-wide dinner party event that celebrates the importance of “home” while raising funds to help the more than 5,000 homeless people currently living on Toronto’s streets. This event is set to expand across the country with people hosting dinners in support of Canada’s more than 32,000 homeless people.
But this event has a twist: diners won’t know their host until the night of the event! This year’s hosts include Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, chef Eron Novalski, bestselling author Terry Fallis and TV host Andrew Younghusband. Dinners will be held in each host’s private home.
There are approximately 5,000 homeless people in Toronto, with nearly 3,200 people currently on the wait list for supportive housing. Last year’s event raised $50,000 to help provide these people with affordable, stable housing and support services, and we hope to make an event bigger impact this year!
