Huron is one of our supportive housing sites; it is a three-storey, century old brick building consisting of 10 partially self‐contained bachelor units located in the Annex neighbourhood. Toronto Community Housing owns the land and Homes First pays a mortgage and provides housing operation and support services to tenants. Huron is set up so that each bachelor unit has its own kitchen, with shared washroom facilities (five washrooms and separate showers throughout the building). The building currently houses middle‐to‐older aged males with a variety of substance use issues, mental health, and behavioural issues. Homes First has been operating a housing program here for over 32 years.
